HWA AG is an independent 360-degree engineering specialist in the fields of motor racing and high-performance vehicles. Founded in 1998 by Hans Werner Aufrecht, the company is based in Affalterbach (Germany) and currently employs around 300 highly qualified staff. HWA AG operates worldwide and has subsidiaries in the USA and Australia.

All of HWA AG’s products and services are guided by the motto ENGINEERING SPEED: the company’s aim is to develop the best and highest-quality solutions to help its partners and customers reach their goals even faster. The service portfolio ranges from the design of all vehicle components to the manufacture of complete vehicles, combined with the corresponding logistics, aftersales and support services. HWA AG has its roots in the racing sector and offers a full range of services for the implementation and execution of racing programmes – in traditional series as well as being a leader in electric racing formats.

HWA like Hans Werner Aufrecht. The man who gave our company its name ranks among the best-known personalities in the automotive sector. In 1967, the former development engineer at Daimler-Benz followed his passion for motorsport and, together with Erhard Melcher, he founded AMG. When the company was sold to DaimlerChrysler AG in 1998, once again it was motorsport that actuated Aufrecht to establish HWA: the racing divison and parts of the car and component construction were separated from the AMG sale and transferred to HWA.
