European Small Volume Car Manufacturers Alliance (ESCA) Q1 2026 Meeting Update

On March 24th, the European Small Volume Car Manufacturers Alliance (ESCA) held its first quarterly meeting of 2026, remotely bringing members together to discuss key EU political and legislative developments impacting the automotive sector.

Discussions focused on several policy priorities, including:

  • Euro 7 secondary legislation

  • Industrial Accelerator Act

  • CO₂ emission standards for light-duty vehicles and Car Labelling Directive

  • EU Individual Vehicle Approval

ESCA members considered the possible implications of these developments for small-volume manufacturers and agreed on a way forward to ensure that the sector’s specific characteristics continue to be recognised by EU policymakers.

As the regulatory framework evolves, ESCA remains dedicated to advocating for its members and supporting a balanced, innovation-friendly policy environment.
